Spread the love

The Atlantic City casino landscape is an eclectic mix of new properties.
In addition to Harrah side of the town, parent firm Caesars Entertainment??possesses Bally’s and the Caesars possessions around the Boardwalk. Caesars and Bally’s definitely fall in the”old” category.
Bally’s casino opened in 1979. From a parking garage that has seen its better days, to exploited carpeting and faded directional signals, the Bally’s house feels every bit as old as its 40 years.
” I was trying to prep myself as I navigated my way toward the Bally’s sportsbook. I honestly didn’t understand what to anticipate.
I have been reviewing every New Jersey sportsbook in advance of the NFL season kickoff. Also for good reason, although this one comes somewhat after the kickoff.
As I started to map out my on-site visit schedule back in JulyI snapped The Book at Bally as its scheduled launch was not until the end of July.
With the place open and operational, let’s dive in and have a look at The Book in Atlantic City.
Address: 1900 Boardwalk, Atlantic City
The Novel, which opened on July 30 and had its grand opening throughout the Philadelphia Eagles game on Sunday, Sept. 8, has not yet made the listing about the directional signals at Bally’s/Caesars complicated.
Entering in the parking garage is a bit of a trip, so just follow the worn carpets and faded hints to”Bally’s Wild West” or simply ask a casino worker for some directions.
Well, the trite old expression of”don’t judge a book by its cover” certainly applies to The Novel. From the minute I came down the escalator, I was dismissed by this venue. “Impressive,””astounding” and”monumental” come to mind, and that I could visit synonyms.com and readily find 10 more words that would also apply to this sportsbook.
The Coyote Kate’s Wild Wild West Slots Parlor space at Bally’s has been transformed to a state of their art and sportsbook. #Boom.
The 15,228-square-foot space is jaw-dropping, out of its luxurious seating space, private enthusiast cavesalong with a”wall of beer” and TV displays of such scale, they’d be at home within the NYC”Times Square” scene.
As mentioned before, while finding this space from the parking garage was somewhat arduous, The Book is far more readily reachable from the Boardwalk entry, although from the exterior signs you’d never know there is a veritable”sports palace” lurking beyond the listed Wild Wild West and Guy Fieri restaurants.
To set the scale of The Book in to perspective, it is nearly 2x the size of their next biggest AC novels (Borgata sportsbook and William Hill at Ocean). The scale and design of the sportsbook is available in the casino area since most of the novels have to be retrofitted to the house, as I have seen at other AC casinos.
Nicely, Bally’s had lots of room to use and they definitely”researched the distance” when designing The Book.
Bally’s AC sportsbook is space that is one contiguous. There are just two humongous TV displays and a third which serves as a video wall with all the capability to be ordered into displays to get multiple game action protection.
The main viewing area consists of 102 high-end leather chairs, a rear row with table rail and 30 VIP seats that contains seating and video slots .
Additionally, since the TV screens and the space are large, there is lots of room.
Under the screens in the front of these Bally’s sportsbook are just five personal, fully enclosed lover temples each holding 16 to 24 people and readily available for pre-booking via bookings.
All told, that is a seating capacity up to 280, with loads of room to hang out if you don’t have a chair.
There are just seven live gambling teller spaces at the back of The Book. The teller area is modest in relative proportion to the general size of the book.
I do raise an issue that it might be chaotic getting during sports betting times to the window at The Book.
Boards containing odds and data are located above the teller windows, that are large enough to require you to stand 20-25 feet away to take in the whole view of advice.
RATING: 3.5 stars
There are no self-service terminals at The Novel.
Because there are not any kiosks currently at the Harrah’s novel this has to be a Caesars item. At present, this may be the only blot on the resume of this sportsbook. It’s just unacceptable for a venue of this dimension that is sprawling to have no self-betting alternatives.
Apparently, is a plan for kiosks pending approval, at some point.
The teller minimum is 5, which is the conventional teller minimum at Atlantic City sportsbooks.
While other books provide you a decrease bet minimum at their self-service kiosks that is not a choice here.
RATING: 2.5 stars
The size of the screens at The Novel are unmatched. No one else has bigger screens, and it is an experience when your sport is on the screen.
There (now ) is a deficiency of smaller display choices, therefore there might be a challenge if you are not there to see the Eagles, Jets or Giants play any given NFL match day.
RATING: 4.5 stars
The capacity is far and away the largest of any NJ sportsbook. A definite winner for Bally’s within this category.
RATING: 5 stars
The Book has five personal fan caves. These are enclosed behind a door that was cluttered, with each space holding up with individual TV screens.
Even the chairs in the primary viewing area can be reserved online. In lieu of a”rental fee,” there’s a food & drink minimal spending dedication required as part of this reservation.
By way of instance, Sunday, Sept. 8, the primary viewing chairs demanded an individual food and beverage pay of $50. Moving the ladder up, the VIP minimal spends start at $250 at enthusiast temples and $150.
Tying this is still an excellent, user-friendly reservation template around the site of the Bally, as shown below to your Sept. 22 NFL Sunday:
RATING: 5 stars
The Book makes it easy to accomplish the minimum spends on your seats.
There’s a seven-page food-and-drink menu for the ordering. There is also a private beer pub that has 16 unique brews available to buy.
RATING: 5 stars
Within my visit that is off-peak, there were four workers behind the teller’s counter, several security guards housekeeping employees, and patrolling the place.
Additionally, there are a lot of racks containing paper chances and futures sheets available to browse and choose from.
RATING: 5 stars
The self-parking cost of $25 is the highest in Atlantic City. It seems criminal to charge that amount and then have you stroll through a garage area that is cluttered with a strong odor of urine. Yuck!!
RATING: 2 stars
Is gigantic.
Therefore, there are some added arcade games such as shuffleboard air hockey, and pool tables. Furthermore, there is capacity for 16 beer pong tables.
Beyond the choices at Bally’s, the area of the property offers easy access to the other and Boardwalk casinos and attractions.
RATING: 5 stars
As part of every sportsbook trip, I am putting a wager for the season.
Trying to sense out who are the best plays for the Week 1 of the NFL, I placed a small four-team moneyline parlay for $5 which would cover 4-1 if I’m right about the Chiefs, Seahawks, Vikings, along with Ravens all starting week 1 with a”W”:
As it happens, I was correct on all four choices and $20.46 is now mine for the taking. That deserves itself high-five.
The Book at Bally’s is a, as this place is truly spectacular, if you are in Atlantic City. From the dimensions into a broad menu of drinks and meals, there’s something for every sports fan and sport bettor to watch and appreciate.
It the cost of accessing the majority of the Atlantic City casinos while the Bally’s parking fees are excessive. The only credible knock The Book are the absence of kiosks.
Some kiosks are determined by the road and they be required to give aid for the little live teller place that is . Caesars, hey about installing a new self-betting kiosk in each fan cave space that is personal? That could be a wonderful touch.
It needs to be a great NFL season and there should definitely be some moments to experience at the Bally’s sportsbook that fall.
