Aidan O’Brien has Proposed Ryan Moore could Remain in Britain to partner Sir Dragonet in the William Hill St Leger at Doncaster on Saturday week, Around What Is Going to be a Hectic Day on both sides of the Irish Sea for the Ballydoyle team.

O’Brien maintained his sixth victory in the planet’s oldest grey when Moore steered Kew Gardens home facing 12 weeks ago – adding on his past triumphs with Milan (2001), Brian Boru (2003), Scorpion (2005), Leading Lighting (2013) and Capri (2017).
The post-race celebrations on Town Moor didn’t survive, but as O’Brien and Moore hot-footed it to Leopardstown for the launch afternoon of Irish Champions Weekend, together with Saxon Warrior narrowly defeated by Roaring Lion in an epic end to the Qipco Irish Champion Stakes just a couple of hours after.
However, Moore will be not able to perform this year after it had been declared race occasions for Leopardstown would be brought forward to avoid a direct conflict with the All-Ireland senior football final replay on the identical day, as well as helping Japanese television coverage of Champion Stakes runner Deirdre.
The changes imply the Irish Champion is now expected off at 4.15pm – just 40 minutes after the big race at Doncaster.
Speaking at a press event in his Tipperary base on Wednesday afternoon, O’Brien stated:”The jockeys are going to be a problem. They aren’t likely to be able to perform both, although We’ve got plenty of jockeys here.
“We always did the two, but we won’t be able to do two this time. This is actually the very first time we can not do the two and it doesn’t do any favours.
“I really don’t understand where Ryan will go. It would not surprise me if he would like to go to the St Leger. I will leave him to choose what he cries, but I would imagine it could be (Sir Dragonet).
“We have not talked about it since they must get there healthy and that is why we do not decide before a couple of days before.
“We’ve got a excellent group of riders, however you can find fantastic riders in both states which weekend there’ll be great rides for everyone because there’ll be a large divide.”
He added:”Different times are grand, but wouldn’t you choose to view them on various days? All of us would like to be at the Irish Champion Stakes and the St Leger – I think fans want to be.
“In this day and age we need to be able to do something and come to some compromise – (maybe) one shift one day annually along with the other change another day the next calendar year.”
Sir Dragonet is one of two St Leger contenders for both.
At odds-on on his return in the midsummer break in the Royal Whip Stakes last month, sir Dragonet ended a close-up fifth favourite for the Investec Derby at Epsom in June, but was beaten.
O’Brien said:”Sir Dragonet had a rest and the strategy was then to go to the Curragh (such as the Royal Whip) and we all thought we’d have a look at the Arc then, (but) things are shifting all of the time.
“The St Leger is a significant race and a very prestigious race and we believed there was a fantastic chance he can get the excursion.
“He’s a horse that has a lot of course. We’ve been very happy with him because the Curragh, so it’ll be exciting to find out how he moves.”
When behind celebrity older stayer Stradivarius in the Lonsdale Cup at York il Paradiso, on the flip side, is set to line up off the back of a career-best performance.
O’Brien added:”Il Paradiso is currently very highly rated. He remains well and that we conducted him at York – we thought it was worth that he had a low weight and him taking his opportunity.
“He conducted a very respectable race it was a fantastic run for a three-year-old.
“It will be intriguing to see him run, too.”
