Srinagar, Aug 03 (KNS): Former chief minister and National Conference (NC) vice president Omar Abdullah Saturday asked central government to come clear over the recent orders especially the one asking yatries and tourists to curtail their stay in Kashmir.
Addressing a presser at his Gupkar residence after meeting the Governor Satya Pal Malik, Omar, as per Kashmir News Service (KNS) correspondent said, “The Governor assured the delegation led by me that nothing will be done with regard to the Article 370 and Article 35A of the Constitution, delimitation or trifurcation.”
The delegation according to Omar met the Governor to seek details about the present situation on ground following the recent orders that as per him created uncertainty among the people.
The NC leader said the orders issued by the government from last two three days has led to the chaos in the Valley, stating that the advisory asking tourists and yatris to return home has further worsened the situation.
He urged the Centre to come up with a statement in Parliament session on Monday. “The leadership in the Centre should come up with a statement and assure the people of J&K,” he said. “We demand the parliament session on Monday to come clear over such an order,” Omar added.
He also appealed people to deal with the situation calmly. “There are elements who want people to take law and order in their hands so that they go ahead with their designs. We need to ensure it does not happen and people must deal with the situation coolly,” he said. (KNS)
