Baramulla, April 30: Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Bhupinder Kumar accompanied by SSP Rayees Ahmad Bhat and other concerned officers today inspects several locations of Baramulla district which include Sopore, Pattan, Rafiabad among other areas and took first hand appraisal of the implementation of lockdown and other SOPs pertaining to COVID-19 pandemic.
Pertinent to mention that, District administration Baramulla has imposed complete lockdown from 29th April (7PM) to 03 May (7AM) as a precautionary measure to minimise the spread of COVID-19 infection. The move was taken after sharp rise in positive cases have been reported from the past few days.
Appreciating the cooperation of people in observing lockdown, DC urged upon them to follow all the requisite advisories especially using face masks and maintaining social distancing. He said that adopting such measures are necessary for safeguarding themselves from Corona infection. Moreover, DC reiterated that administration is committed to take all possible initiatives to combat COVID-19 outbreak.
Meanwhile, the DC met various religious heads during which he impressed upon them to motivate people to follow all the requisite SOPs as they enjoy a respectable and prominent place in the society. He emphasized upon them to ensure that any kind of gathering is not allowed in Masjids and at other religious places for the overall well-being of public health.
