Covid-19: J&K records 30 deaths, 3,023 positive cases in 24 hours

Srinagar, Apr 28 (KNO): The Jammu and Kashmir Union territory on Wednesday reported 30 deaths, highest ever since pandemic and 3,023 new positive cases were also reported pushing the number of active cases to 24,313 which otherwise were less than 600 around a month before.

With 30 more deaths, the death has reached to 2,227 and the active cases continue to increase and the recovery rate decreases with each passing day. 3,023 fresh positive cases reported on Wednesday pushed the tally of positive cases to 169,077.

Of the exact number of 169,077 cases, 101,749 are from Kashmir and 67,328 from Jammu division. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 3,023 new cases, 2,034 belong to Kashmir division while as 989 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 101,749 including 85,582 recoveries and 1,372 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 67,328 including 56,955 recoveries and 855 deaths.

The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 24,313 including 14,795 from Kashmir division and 9,518 from Jammu division.

With 963 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 142,537 which is 84.30 percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 951 from Srinagar, 246 from Baramulla, 199 from Budgam, 82 from Pulwama, 79 from Kupwara, 160 from Anantnag, 59 from Bandipora, 54 from Ganderbal, 145 from Kulgam and 59 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 989 from Jammu division include 499 from Jammu, 61 from Udhampur, 90 from Rajouri, 27 from Doda, 87 from Kathua, 50 from Samba,  22 from Kishtwar, 26 from Poonch, 71 from Ramban and 56 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.

Out of 30 deaths reported today, 06 died in GMC Jammu, 02 in ASCOMS Jmu, 01 in GMC Kathua, 03 Home (Brought Dead), 03 in JLNM Sgr, 06 in SKIMS Soura, 02 in GMC Baramulla, 02 in GMC Anantnag, 03 in SMHS Sgr, 01 CD Hosp Sgr and 01 in SKIMS Bemina.

As per officials figures, 41,489 positive cases including 524 deaths and 33,484 recoveries are from Srinagar, 12,214 including 196 deaths and 10,140 recoveries are from Baramulla, 10,193 including 8,886 recoveries and 130 deaths are from Budgam, 6,916 including 6,114 recoveries and 99 deaths are from Pulwama, 6,790 including 101 deaths and 5,959 recoveries are from Kupwara, 6,532 including 5,502 recoveries and 107 deaths are from Anantnag, 5,353 cases including 4,945 and 64 deaths are from Bandipora, 5,308 including 4,859 recoveries and 49 deaths are from Ganderbal, 4,010 including 3,016 recoveries and 60 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,944 including 2,677 recoveries and 42 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 33,635 including 27,593 recoveries and 459 deaths are from Jammu district, 5,799 including 5,269 recoveries and 63 deaths are from Udhampur, 4,633  including 3,909 recoveries and 63 deaths are from Rajouri, 3,719 including 3,449 recoveries and 65 deaths are from Doda, 4,379 including 3,793 recoveries and 60 deaths are from Kathua, 3,482 including 2,867 recoveries and 49 deaths are from Samba, 2,925 including 2,813 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Kishtwar, 2,882 including 2,578 recoveries and 33 deaths are from Poonch, 2,535 including 2,293 recoveries and 23 deaths are from Ramban and 3,339 including 2,481 recoveries and 18 deaths are from Reasi.

As per the daily information bulletin 1,784,112 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 93,728 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 24,313 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 1,542,366 persons have completed surveillance period and 121,478 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 7,172,458 samples are available. Out of 7,172,458 the number of samples tested negative stands at 7,003,381 while as 169,077 have tested positive, among them 24,313 persons are active, 142,537 persons have recovered and 2,227 persons have died—(KNO)
