Srinagar, Apr 24 (KNO): The Covid-19 cases in Jammu and Kashmir continue to show a steep spurt as 2,030 fresh positive cases were reported on Saturday pushing the number of active cases to 18,064 which otherwise were less than 600 around a month before.
15 more deaths were reported in J&K in the last 24 hours taking the death toll to 2,126 and active cases continue to increase and the recovery rate decreases with each passing day. 2,030fresh positive cases reported on Saturday pushed the tally of positive cases to 158,064.
Of the exact number of 158,064 cases, 94,704 are from Kashmir and 63,670 from Jammu division. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 2,030 new cases, 1,196 belong to Kashmir division while as 834 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 94,704 including 82,896 recoveries and 1,323 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 63,670 including 55,288 recoveries and 803 deaths.
The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 18,064 including 10,485 from Kashmir division and 7,579 from Jammu division.
With 944 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 138,180 which is 87.25 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 591 from Srinagar, 180 from Baramulla, 81 from Budgam, 48 from Pulwama, 45 from Kupwara, 99 from Anantnag, 14 from Bandipora, 48 from Ganderbal, 83 from Kulgam and 07 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 834 from Jammu division include 530 from Jammu, 62 from Udhampur, 48 from Rajouri, 03 from Doda, 57 from Kathua, 48 from Samba, 06 from Kishtwar, 27 from Poonch, 18 from Ramban and 35 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
15 more deaths were reported in J&K, among them 08 belong to Kashmir division while as 07 belong to Jammu division.
In Kashmir, three deaths were reported at SMHS, two each at CD hospital and SKIMS Soura and one at GMC Baramulla while as in Jammu division 02 each died at GMC Jammu and GMC Kuthua and one each at GMC Kuthua and CHC Surankote and one died at home.
As per officials figures, 38,014 positive cases including 500 deaths and 32,025 recoveries are from Srinagar, 11,435 including 190 deaths and 9,723 recoveries are from Baramulla, 9,550 including 8,618 recoveries and 126 deaths are from Budgam, 6,666 including 6,034 recoveries and 96 deaths are from Pulwama, 6,419 including 99 deaths and 5,908 recoveries are from Kupwara, 6,028 including 5,364 recoveries and 101 deaths are from Anantnag, 5,094 cases including 4,861 and 63 deaths are from Bandipora, 5,110 including 4,770 recoveries and 49 deaths are from Ganderbal, 3,558 including 2,935 recoveries and 58 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,830 including 2,658 recoveries and 41 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 31,726 including 26,786 recoveries and 421 deaths are from Jammu district, 5,596 including 5,082 recoveries and 61 deaths are from Udhampur, 4,331 including 3,888 recoveries and 59 deaths are from Rajouri, 3,604 including 3,437 recoveries and 65 deaths are from Doda, 4,109 including 3,631 recoveries and 58 deaths are from Kathua, 3,282 including 2,854 recoveries and 46 deaths are from Samba, 2,855 including 2,770 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Kishtwar, 2,758 including 2,545 recoveries and 31 deaths are from Poonch, 2,370 including 2,203 recoveries and 23 deaths are from Ramban and 3,039 including 2,092 recoveries and 17 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin 1,731,301 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 82,615 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 18,064 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 1,502,488 persons have completed surveillance period and 126,008 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 7,001,906 samples are available. Out of 7,001,906 the number of samples tested negative stands at 6,843,532 while as 158,374 have tested positive, among them 18,064 persons are active, 138,184 persons have recovered and 2,126 persons have died—(KNO)
